Volunteers Training – October 2019

Training began for the volunteers on Saturday 5th October 2019 and was repeated on the evenings of Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th October. Our Christian family travelled from a variety of churches throughout the Forth Valley area and beyond.

Everyone received a warm welcome, refreshments and then settled down to the training. The main aim of the training was to Ignite, Equip and Empower everyone to get ready to “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all” (Mark 16:15-16 MSG). This for the charity means, taking the message of hope to those in desperate life controlling addictions in Falkirk, Grangemouth and Stirling!

In the first session the training covered the history of Teen Challenge Global, UK and Strathclyde. Also looked at our mandate of why Connect2 TC Forth Valley wishes to continue what Pastor David Wilkinson started in 1958 with “evangelism”. Then we looked at the size of the problem here in Scotland and Forth Valley. Lastly in the second session we reviewed the preparation for rehaband looked at, why an individual might relapse.

All the training provided for the volunteers is designed to Ignite, Equip and Empower everyone to take the Teen Challenge bus into Falkirk, Grangemouth and Stirling by the end of October / beginning of November.
